Breast/ Ovarian Cancer (BRCA1/ BRCA2)

  • Complete analysis of the BRCA1 & BRCA2 genes
  • Analysis of the entire BRCA1 gene

  • Analysis of BRCA1 exons 11 & 20 (Hot spots)
  • Analysis of the entire BRCA2 gene

BRCA1 and BRCA2, associated with predisposition for breast/ ovarian cancer (genomic rearrangements testing is also offered for the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes).

Genetic analysis

  • A short family history must be taken. Any information regarding the patient's family history is important and quickens the analysis completion.
  • 2 x 3ml of peripheral blood in EDTA anticoagulant are required. The sample is either sent to BioGenomica laboratory on the same day the blood is being drawn, or can be stored for a longer time period in the freezer (-20 °C) until its postage.   • Genetic reports are handed to the attending physician in less than eight (8) calendar weeks.
